The Journal of Burma Studies, Volume 10 2005-06

The Journal of Burma Studies is the only scholarly journal in the world to publish exclusively on research and writing about Burma. This issue features four peer-reviewed articles on the following topics: Burmese wall paintings from the eleventh to nineteenth centuries (Alexandra Green); a historical reconsideration of the ‘traditional’ high status of women in Burma (Chie Ikeya); modern Burmese painting according to Bagyi Aung Soe (Yin Ker); and the court Brahmins (Punna) of the Konbaung kings, 1752-1885 (Jacques P. Leider).
