1) The last talk for the Spring Semester will be held this Friday, May 2
featuring Prof. Angelene Naw, Department of History at Judson University
(rescheduled from February 15). Her topic is "Karen Refugees in Illinois:
the
Resettlement, the Challenges and Adjustment". 12 noon in Campus Life
Building,
Room 110. To reserve a Thai lunch, call 753-1771 by
noon on Thursday, May 1. $4 students/$5 all others.
2) Southeast Asia Culture Night will be Friday, May 2 in Wirtz Auditorium
from
6 to 8 p.m. Thai food will be provided; drinks will cost $.50. This
event is
co-sponsored by the Southeast Asia Club and BIG-NIU (Burma Interest Group).
